Dry-lining
Dry-lining a wall means attaching a plasterboard to a wall, which gives you a smooth finish to decorate straight away. It is so much easier to get a good result this way than with wet plaster. It is also a better alternative to re-plastering.
To make sure the plasterboard is straight when it’s on the wall, we mark guidelines on the walls and ceiling so we can put the boards right in place.
For a professional finish, we’ll make neat cuts in the plasterboard to fir around obstacles like window sills. We’ll do this before applying the adhesive. We will then fit the plasterboard, the corners and the ceiling. Once the plasterboard is in place, a jointing tape will be applied over the joints between the boards and then the tape and recessed screw or nail heads can be filled over with a jointing compound.
